Welcome to Witton Park Academy
Innovating… Engaging… Caring… Learning… Succeeding Together.
With pride and passion we unite our school and our local community, and lead the drive to be ‘always learning’.
We are extremely proud of our school; the achievements of our pupils, the expertise and dedication of our staff, our outstanding facilities and our reputation as a centre of excellence.
Our ultra-modern school buildings allow our pupils to flourish in facilities for learning that truly do enable us to trail blaze innovative learning – from the bright and attractive classrooms, to the fully equipped outside play areas, the facilities allow our pupils to fully explore their talents and to shine in those areas that they most enjoy.
A building, however, is only as good as the people working within; we believe we have some of the best students and teachers in the world. Staff and pupils benefit from the investment we place on their development: as well as playing a key part in supporting other schools through the Achievement through Collaboration Trust, we have a variety of external partners from Google, The Schools, Students and Teacher Network and with University College London. Partnerships like these create opportunities for all members of our team.
We understand how important choosing the right school is and so, on behalf of our pupils and staff, we warmly invite you to visit our school and experience for yourself the quality of education we offer.

Headteacher
Required - Associate Assistant Headteacher - Sport, Creative Technology with a Whole School Responsibility
Start Date: September 2023
Salary: L8 - L12, currently £52,659 - £58,105
Location: Witton Park Academy, Blackburn
Contract type: Full-Time
Contract term: Permanent
Closing date - 9am Monday 22nd May 2023
Witton Park Academy is part of Achievement through Collaboration Trust - an ambitious and supportive Trust, where children come first and are at the heart of all we do.
We are looking for a leader who shares our values. A leader who uses coaching as their philosophy for developing people. A leader who can support Sport and Technology strategically, can roll their sleeves up and ‘get stuff done’ and can teach well. A leader who will be a full part of the Senior Leadership Team. There are a wide range of subjects taught within the faculty and you may have expertise in PE, Art or Design Technology. We are looking for the most accomplished leader of a curriculum rather than a particular subject.
The whole school responsibility would be curriculum based but depend on your particular strengths.
We would like you to be able to demonstrate the improvements you have been responsible for in any strategic areas of your school(s). The skill and personality to motivate and inspire our staff and students to achieve their highest personal goals is a key attribute for this role. As a good school, we continually seek improvements; we believe this strategic role will take us into the next stage of our improvement journey.
As Associate Assistant Headteacher, you will work closely with other members of the leadership team, all of whom are passionate about improving the life chances of our students, making sure that they fulfil their part in ensuring that Witton Park Academy is a school to be proud of. In addition there will be opportunities to work collaboratively with colleagues in our other schools to support school improvement. Within the faculty you would line manage Leaders of Learning for PE, Creative Technology and Dance.
This is a wonderful opportunity for an ambitious and dedicated professional to join our school and make a difference to the lives of our students and the community we serve.
We encourage you to read the accompanying documentation highlighting our values, vision and culture as a school. I would also encourage you to browse our internal CPL training at the site here to give you a full flavour of how we support staff.

● A vibrant internal CPD structure that has been identified as outstanding practice
● A role that will be supported by an experienced Senior Leadership Team

In your supporting document please indicate how you would lead the development of Sport and Technology at Witton Park Academy and how your leadership over the last two years has made a positive impact on pupils' progress.
