We have an excellent opportunity for a successful candidate to be able to work in our fantastic school amongst a team of dedicated staff and with pupils who are keen and ready to learn. As our Ofsted inspection in December 2022 pointed out: ‘Pupils at Bowland High enjoy coming to school, pupils feel happy and safe, the curriculum is ambitious for all pupils, pupils behave well in lessons and are eager to learn and pupils are focused and attentive in their learning'.
If you want to work in a school where investment in staff development is strong, where pupils are polite and respectful and in a location of outstanding natural beauty then this could be the job for you. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join a growing department as the school increases in numbers.
Mrs Fielden- Head teacher
Bowland High is a co-educational secondary academy based in Grindleton, near Clitheroe in Lancashire, for students aged 11-16. It is a non-denominational school.
Bowland High overlooks the River Ribble and Pendle Hill from an elevated position.
Values and vision.
We are a small school and it is much easier for staff here to get to know all pupils. The whole school community is able to understand the specific needs and interests of individual students and to monitor their progress. The school aims for its pupils to thrive in a secure environment, where students learn from each other as well as from their teachers.
Bowland High aims to be a school founded on mutual respect and responsibility, with high standards of behaviour. It considers itself to be forward-looking, but it is also proud of and true to its heritage.
CEIAG is strong in the school and Ofsted noted: ‘Leaders give all pupils opportunities to discuss careers and their future regularly. Pupils have access to the careers library and are able to participate in activities on ‘Future Fridays’ and college networking. As a result, they are extremely well informed about their next steps.’ We are seeking someone who can build on the strength that already exists within the school and the CEIAG programme.
