The Role

Thames Primary Academy and Nursery

Let your Potential Soar!

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated Teaching Assistant to support in various classrooms across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful primary academy within the ATC (Achievement Through Collaboration) Multi Academy Trust.

We are extremely proud of our school; the achievements of our children, the expertise and dedication of our staff, the support of our parents, our outstanding facilities and our reputation as a centre of excellence.

The school and nursery classrooms and the outdoor play areas have been modernised and refurbished to an exceptional standard over recent years and we are very proud to be able to offer our children a truly exceptional learning environment which is bright, stimulating and state of the art in terms of technology, innovation and comfort.

A building, however, is only as good as the people working within.  Staff and pupils benefit from the investment we place on their development: as well as playing a key part in supporting other schools across the ATC Achievement through Collaboration Trust.

At Thames we have children firmly at the heart of all that we do.💜

Our academy is a place where children flourish and grow because they:

  • We strive for all children to leave Thames as independent learners with self-belief and an abiding respect for others.
  • We are driven to ensure our academy is a place where successful learners, responsible citizens and confident individuals are ready for their next step in education and their future lives.

We are looking for a teaching assistant who:

  • Has experience of working with EYFS/KS1 and/or KS2 pupils.
  • Puts the children first, is fully committed to inclusion and continually strives for high standards from themselves and others.

Our Vision

At Thames, we take pride in developing outstanding teaching and learning by holding the highest expectations of all our pupils and knowing the children well. We challenge all children to strive for academic, creative, sporting and personal accomplishment within a broad, vibrant and enriched curriculum. Our students are given time to explore subjects and develop deep understanding. We celebrate perseverance, resilience and risk-taking, ensuring children welcome challenge and are not frightened to make mistakes.

We encourage children to take ownership of and responsibility for their learning, so they have the confidence and curiosity to ask questions, solve problems and respond to quality feedback. We promote an ethos of respect and empathy, where diversity is valued and celebrated – both within the school and the wider world. Safeguarding and welfare are extremely important and pupils are taught the virtues of kindness, appreciation and what it means to be courageous. Special care is taken to educate everyone in the Thames community about the needs of others and how best to meet them. We foster open and honest communication with parents, carers and specialists and actively seek to engage with all members of our community in a positive and supportive manner.

High-quality teaching is a key priority at Thames and the relationship between staff and children underpins inspirational, supportive and effective teaching and learning.
